Donald Gray (1914–1978) was an actor for stage, TV and film.

Biography

Born Elred Owermann Tidbury on 3 March 1914 at Tidburys Toll, Fort Beaufort, Cape Province, South Africa, studying at Marist College Uitenhage and Christian Brothers’ College,Kimberley.


He is best known in the UK for the roles he played in popular British television series, such as "Mark Saber" in Saber of London[1]

Contribution to South African theatre, folm, media and performance

When he was demobbed in 1946 he went into partnership with theatre producer Brian Brooke in Cape Town. When they parted company shortly afterwards, Gray returned to UK where he continued his career.
