De Tijdgeest ("The spirit of time") is a Dutch comedy in three acts by Melt J. Brink (1842-1925).

The original text

Written in 1875, the play was inspired by a poem by W.J. van Zegelen.

1875 Performed by Aurora II in the Athenaeum Hall, Cape Town on 25 April, with Arthur de Beaumont, of De Franctireur van Neufville (Van der Stempel).
