Colin Shamley (19**-). Singer, musician, songwriter and actor.

Biography

Colin was married to the actress Aletta Bezuidenhout.

Training

He is one of several socially conscious folk singers in South Africa that emerged in the 1970s. He did a stint of work with Barney Simon, being trained as an actor.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

In 1975 he was one of the musicians in a performance of Antigone (by Jean Anouilh).

Des and Dawn Lindberg’s production of Lennon (Arena Bistro Theatre, Rosebank, 1981).
