Clémence Clémence et Waldémar, ou Le Peintre par Amour First performed Paris, "avec success 21 brumaire an 10", i.e. in October 1801. First published in French by Barba, Paris 1803.

Translated into Dutch as Clemence en Waldemar by Cornelis Van Der Vyver ("maître d'école et auteur dramatique") and published by Wed. J. Dóll, 1804.
Performance history in South Africa
1843: Performed in Cape Town on 21 July in the Dutch translation by "Het Privaat Hollandsch Liefhebbery Tooneel Gezelschap" ("The private Dutch amateur theatre company") Door Yver Vruchtbaar as their first performance, with the comedy Het Losse Schot (Meyer). Repeated at special request on 4 August, 1843 by the same company, with De Gevaarlyke Buurman (Kotzebue).
