The Basement Theatre is a venue in Secunda, Mpumalanga.

Also referred to as The Basement Theatre.


The venue

The Basement Theatre is part of the Lake Umuzi Waterfront, situated at 1 Kiewiet Street, Secunda in Mpumalanga. Though the centre is primarily seen as a conference venue and described in its publicity as "the perfect venue for all events, year-end functions and weddings", it is also used for film and theatre events.

There are two spaces: Basement One, which can accommodate up to 250 people and the smaller Basement Two, that can hold up to 50 people.

Among the performances held in the Basement Theatre have included the annual SANCTA mini festival of plays by amateur groups in the Secunda area.


Secunda also has the Johannes Stegmann Theatre.
