He was born in London but made South Africa his home in 1956.

His career on stage spanned several decades and he worked for Johannesburg Repertory Players, NTO, PACT, CAPAB and other companies.

Starred in Jean Anouilh’s Antigone which was presented by the Arena Theatre Company and staged at the YMCA during 1956, also starring Beryl Gordon; The Circle (with NAPAC), Kismet (with PACT), A View from the Bridge (J’burg Reps 1957), Career (J’burg Reps 1958), Affairs of State (Reps 1959), The Prisoner (NTO 1961), A Touch of the Poet (NTO 1961), Seven against the Sun (NTO),
John Fernald’s production of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard (PACT at the Alexander Theatre in 1963).
