American Buffalo is a play by David Mamet (1947-) [1].

The original text

The play shows a day in the lives of three small-time crooks. In the Chicago junk shop owned by one of them, they plan a robbery but only succeed in deceiving each other and quarrelling. First performed at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago in 1975, revived in 1983 with Al Pacino playing the role of Teach. It won Mamet the New York Drama Critics Award and the work has become a critically acclaimed classic of the modern American theatre.
