Alan Joseph (19**-2003). Actor, stage manager, light designer, director and arts manager.

He died from a heart attack in 2003.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

In 1976 he stage managed The Black Mikado, in 1977 he was the stage manager for a production of The Island.

He became General Manager of the Market (1986). He replaced Michal Grobbelaar at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre (1992) and in January 1996 became chief executive officer of PACT.

After leaving the State Theatre he became an independent impressario.
