The Bush Tale is a play by Martin Koboekae.

The original text

Set in 1986 Apartheid South Africa it exposes the mistrust between a man and a woman from different cultural backgrounds who meet through circumstance.

Performance history in South Africa

2001: First performed in Johannesburg in 2001, with Moagi Modise (Jan) and Lee-Ann Shepherd (Marietta/Chelsea), directed by the playwright.

2003: Staged in the Windybrow Arts Centre in May 2003, directed by Walter Chakela, with Martin Koboekae (Jan) and Lee-Ann Shepherd (Marietta/Chelsea).
