Training
He graduated from Rhodes University with a B.A. (Hons) degree at the end of 1987.
Career
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Roles at university included Dan in Deon Opperman's Student Drama Festival winner From Midnight to Morning, Frikkie in the original production of Diepe Grond (1985), Petruchio in Ken Leach's production of The Taming of the Shrew and Dusart in David Alcock's production of Equus. He played various roles in the PACT school programmes. In 1988 he played in We All Fall Down and Brothers. He had a role in the Pieter Toerien production of Charley's Aunt and played Daantjie van der Hoven in Stille Nag (KRUIK, 1990).
Awards, etc
While at university he won the 1985 A.A. Mutual Vita Award for the Most Promising Actor for his portrayal of Kosie in Deon Opperman's production of Môre is 'n Lang Dag.
