Paul Warwick Griffin

Biography

Appeared on stage as a child, both in South Africa and the UK. Settled in SA in 1991.

He moved to London in 19**, and spent the next eight years there, completing an MA with Distinction in Theatre Directing from Middlesex University. He was Education Associate for The Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond where he directed the theatre's Shakespeare-in-Schools Programme and was then appointed as Associate Director and was Acting Artistic Director of The Bridewell Theatre.

As performer

Roles include Jesus/Judas in CAPAB's Jesus Christ Superstar (1993); Hair (1993); Camelot (1994); The Visit (1994); 'Tis Pity She's a Whore (1994); The Madness of George III (1995); A Midsummer Night's Dream (1995).

Work with Jazzart included Catch 'n Fall/Fall 'n Catch and New Works.

As director

His directing credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2005), Stepping Out (2006), Hair (2007), Chess (2008), Evita (2010), Sunset Boulevard (2013) - all for Pieter Toerien Productions.

For over 4 years, he was the Associate Director for the World Tour of CATS (Beirut, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Shanghai, Doha, Taipei, Beijing, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Oslo and Athens).

West End credits include: Associate Director for Waiting for Godot (Royal Haymarket), and Resident Director for Aladdin (Old Vic), Ghost – The Musical, (West End, London).

Corporate theatre

For 5 years he was the Executive Producer for the Element Theatre Company and has free-lanced for several companies, with Microsoft, Sun International and Vodacom among his corporate clients.
