First produced in South Africa in 1957 by the Johannesburg Reps, directed by Clifford Williams with Sonia Dresdel.
Die Koningin en die Rebelle was presented by CAPAB in January 1967, directed by Anna Neethling-Pohl. The cast: Milla Louw, Anna Cloete, Percy Sieff, Johan Malherbe, Willen de la Querra, Kristo Pienaar (replaced by Johann Nell in some performances), Glynn Day, Peter Grobbelaar, Gertie Smith-Visser, Pieter de Swardt, I. de la Querra (seuntjie). Decor and costumes by Bill Smuts.
A production in Afrikaans (Die Koningin en die Rebelle, translated by Alewyn Lee) was directed by William Egan for PACOFS in 1974, starring, Jannie Gildenhuys, Estelle de Waal, Wim Vorster.
