A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur
A one-act play with two scenes by American playwright and author Tennessee Williams (1911-1983). Set in St. Louis in the mid-1930s, the play focuses on four women struggling for a sense of identity and independence.

The original text
Williams reworked earlier versions of the play and changed its title to A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur. Directed by Keith Hack, it opened at the Hudson Guild Theatre in January 1979.

Performance history in South Africa
Presented by CAPAB Drama at the Nico Arena in October 1990, directed by Blaise Koch starring Brenda Wood (Bodey), Lida Meiring (Miss Gluck), Claire Berlein (Helena) and Pauline O'Kelly (Dorothea). Design by Michael Mitchell, lighting design by Des Spijker, stage manager Francois Sesselberg. This production taken on tour to various venues in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape until 1 November 1990.
