A comedy in one act by Carl Theodor Körner, originally entitled Der Nachtwächter (The Night Watchman) and first produced in the Vienna Burgtheater in 1812.
Translated into Dutch inter alia by Salomon Deventer (published in 1844); by G. de Vos (in 1852).
10 September, 1825: performed as a two-act comedy in Cape Town by the children's company Tot Oefening en Smaak, probably directed by Joseph Suasso de Lima.
