Gulls
Gulls, by the Australian playwright Robert Hewett (1949-*). The play deals with a middle-aged man who had brain damage as a youngster. He is tended by his sister.
Performance history in South Africa
Directed by Keith Grenville for CAPAB in 1987. It was awarded the AA Life Vita Award for theatre and three Fleur du Cap Awards in 1987.
Presented by The Baxter and Volute Productions, directed by Keith Grenville, featuring Ron Smerczak, Jeremy Taylor, Joy Stewart-Spence, Mitzi Booysen in May 1989. Integral elements of the production are two gull puppets made by the Handspring Puppet Company.
In 1991 William Egan directed the play for PACOFS starring Ernst Eloff as Bill, Marga van Rooy as his sister, Dan was played by Pieter Brand and Molly by Wilna Snyman with performances at the Civic Theatre Bloemfontein, Kimberley Theatre and Civic Theatre Kroonstad.
