Pale Natives
A full-length play by Paul Slabolepszy (1994). The play focuses on the surviving clan of white males in South Africa, with South Africa’s imminent changeover of government in 1994 as a backdrop.
Performance history in South Africa
Premièred at The Market Theatre, directed by Bobby Heaney, with Tim Plewman, Paul Slabolepszy, Bill Flynn and Danny Keogh in January 1994. The production moves to the Baxter Theatre and returned to The Market Theatre for another run.
2014: Produced 9 April to 11 May 2014 at the Market Theatre, directed by Bobby Heaney, with James Cairns, Ashley Dowds, Lionel Newton and Antony Coleman. Lighting designer: Nomvula Molepo, set and costumes: Noluthando Lobese, stage manager: Lebeisa Molepo and publicist: Robert Motseko
