Geoffrey Hyland

HYLAND, Geoffrey. (19**-) Actor, director and lecturer. ** Went to school at Grey College, Bloemfontein, studied at the University of Cape Town and later became a teacher there. Also studied at York University Toronto. Won the Rosalie van der Gucht Prize for New Directors in 1989 and went on to become a successful director of student and professional work in Cape Town. Productions include: **, **, Twelfth Night (2006), As You Like It (2009) will be directed by lauded Shakespeare director, Geoffrey Hyland (Maynardville: Macbeth 2004, Twelfth Night 2006). He will be assisted by Dicky Longhurst (Costumes), Daniel Galloway (Set), William Baker (Music) and Jay Pather (Choreography), Leigh Anderson (Assistant Director). Starring in this production will be Lika Berning (Rosalind), Gys de Villiers (Duke Senior and Duke Frederick), Astara Mwakalumbwa (Celia), Nicola Hanekom (Phebe), Mark Elderkin (Touchstone) together with a full cast.
