DUBE, “Lucky” (1963-) Hugely popular reggae singer and film star, at one time the most popular recording star in the country. He started with Zulu/mbaqanga music, and moved into reggae, producing his first album Rastas Never Die in 1985. Starred as an aspirant reggae star in two low budget movies, Getting Lucky and Lucky Strikes Back, which set off his reggae career. (See: Toffoli & Silber, 1989)
