Un sale égoïste ("an egotist") is a French play by by Franzoise Dorin (1928–2018).

The original text
The play explores the comedic and often exasperating dynamics of a self-absorbed partner — the quintessential "selfish/egoist" gentleman — whose rigid routines, hatred for disorder, and supreme self-interest dictate the lives of those around him.
First staged at the Théâtre Antoine (Paris) on 3 February, 1970, follwowed by a number of other productions.
Translations and adaptations
Translated into German as Ein Egoist and English as An Egotist.
Performance history in South Africa
1996: The German version performed in Cape Town by Das Kleine Theater am Kap.
