Based on the Just So Stories for Little Children - a 1902 collection of origin stories by the British author Rudyard Kipling.

Production history in South Africa

1986: Presented by Children's Theatre Productions at the Zoo's Old Elephant House in Johannesburg, directed by Joyce Levinsohn and Jill Girard.
