The original text
A play for 6-11 year olds about an unwanted puppy that saves the day and becomes a family’s hero. Set in the Inanda Township, the play, Lucky Strike – which is – focuses on a young boy who is part of a child-headed household. An orphaned puppy wanders into S’fiso’s shack and changes his life.
Created collaboratively between Lashona Arts and Gisele Turner of Happy-go-Lucky Productions it was first performed in Durban at the D.U.T. Children's Festival in 2011.
It has been published as a Grade Seven Set work for English (first language) and Zulu (second language).
The playtext gained second place in the Trinity College of London International Playwriting Competition
and was published in a compendium of award-winning plays by Junkets Publisher.
