Garth Anderson (19**- ). South African actor and theatre director (mostly in Natal).

Biography

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Garth Anderson directed Noël Coward's Still Life and Blonde Sisters: Mothering the Master Race (1980s), The Story of an African Farm (1988), Faces in the Wall (1994), White Men with Weapons (1996), The Blue Period of Milton van der Spuy (1997-8), Macbeth (2002), Othello (2002).

He acted in The Taming of the Shrew (NAPAC 1981), Fiddler on the Roof (CAPAB 1995), Oklahoma!, The Circus Adventure (1994), Maid in the New South Africa (1996).

Awards, etc

Vita Award (National) Director of the year joint winner, 1997.

Vita Award (KZN) Best supporting actor in The Importance of Being Earnest, 2002.

Durban Theatre Awards, Lifetime Achievement, 2007.

Fools Award: Garth received its Smart award for outstanding lifetime achievement in the arts.
