Standpunte was an Afrikaans literary quarterly.

The journal

The founding editors were N.P. van Wyk Louw, W.E.G. Louw and H.A. Mulder, and the first issue (Jaargang 1 no. 1) appeared in December, 1945, published in Cape Town by Nasionale Boekhandel Bpk. It existed from 1945 to 1986. Contributions were mainly in Afrikaans, with occasional contributions in English and Dutch.

The journal was an influential vehicle for the promotion of Afrikaans as a literary and academic language. Though it has relatively few contributions on drama and the performing arts, some of those published have been quite influential. (A number of these are listed in the ESAT Bibliography)
