Susan Danford
(19**-) Actress. n award winning actress that has worked on national and international stages and in film for over two decades. In 2006 she won the Fleur Du Cap Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Emma, in Harold Pinter’s Betrayal, directed by Lara Foot at the Baxter Theatre. In 2008 she was nominated for Best Performance in a One Person Play for her acclaimed performance in I,Claudia, directed by Lara Bye.
Her theatre highlights include Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), The Crucible (in Afrikaans - Abigail), Betrayal (Emma), Phaedra (Ismene), As You Like It (Celia), Hard Times (Louisa), Death Defying Acts ,I,Claudia, The Great Gatsby (Daisy), The Maids (Madam), The Just (Dora), Broken Glass amongst others. Her feature film highlights include Invictus and Catch a Fire, The Adventures of Laurel and Hardy, I Dreamed of Africa. International television projects include Fleisch, Ace Lightning, Colour of Friendship, and Sisters for the BBC, and the sci-fi series The Triangle . Danford has also featured in over 12 television series in South Africa, including 7de Laan, Known Gods and Bridget in League of Glory.
