Elaine Aucamp

(19**-) Artist, enormously talented costume designer and lecturer. Obtained a B.A (FA) from Michaelis School of Arts, University of Cape Town. Married Emile Aucampand joined him at the in Stellenbosch University Drama Department as Wardrobe mistress and lecturer in Costume, first on part-time basis and later full time. Over the years she costumed hundreds of student productions, designing, making and/or altering all the costumes with the help of her students. Also did a great deal of professional work over the years, e.g. on *** Retired in 1998.
