Papawerwyn ("Poppy wine") is a play text by Hennie Aucamp.

The original text

Subtitled "'n maaltyd in drie tonele" ("a meal in three scenes), it was first performed in 1979 and was published in the collection Papawerwyn en ander verbeeldings vir die verhoog (Poppy wine and other imaginations for the stage") by Tafelberg Uitgewers, in 1980.

Performance history in South Africa

1979: Performed by Dinkteater in Pretoria, directed by Danie Burger.

1979: Performed by the Akademiespelers, directed by Pieter Grobbelaar, in October at the the ATKV Play Festival. It was one of the winners.
