Mary Byron died of cancer, 1953.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She visited South Africa on a regular basis in the period 1947-1950, usually under the auspices of Brian Brooke, to direct Night Must Fall, Clutterbuck, A Man About the House, Hedda Gabler, Charley's Aunt, Home at Seven and The Happiest Days of Your Life for the Brian Brooke Company.
She also produced Laura for the Cape Reps in 1948.
