Het Zuid-Afrikaansche Tijdschrift (1873-1893) was a South African journal devoted to preserve the Dutch language in the country and to promote reading.

It was the mouthpiece of the Zuid-Afrikaansche Taalbond championing Cape Dutch) as a language for the country and was founded and edited by "Onze Jan" (J.H. Hofmeyr (1845-19).

The editorial team and contributors included J.W.G. van Oordt, J. van der Tuuk (editor after 1890), Hubertus Elffers
