Performance history in South Africa
1862: Performed as The Maid of the Mill by Clara Tellett and her company in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town, on 2 August, with Love in Humble Life (Scribé/Payne) and A Perfect Cure (Sapte). (F.C.L. Bosman, 1980, p. 131 - seemingly unaware of the existence of this text - suggests it may have been a version of either The Miller's Maid by Saville or The Maid and the Mail by Bickerstaffe)
