April 1980 is a South African film by Jan Scholtz. It was released in September 1980.

The film

The film tells the story of an innocent university student called Carol whose brother - also a student - is a political activist. She falls in love with a government spy who has been instructed to provide the police with information about her brother. Her brother has distorted ideals and is unable to come to terms with his actions.

Directed by Jan Scholtz and produced by André Scholtz and Boet Troskie, with a script by Jan Scholtz, music by Rosa Keet and Laurika Rauch, cinematography by Paul Marais and film editing by Johan Lategan.
