First performed on 3 December, 1855, at the Royal Olympic Theatre, London, and published by Thomas Hailes Lacy (Lacy's Acting edition), probably in the same year.

1860: Performed as £5 Reward by Charles Fraser in the Cabinet Theatre, Cape Town, on 17 January, along with A Hopeless Passion (Morton).
