Performance history in South Africa

1867-8: Performed by the Poussard-Bailey Company as part of their repertoire during their 15 month long tour throughout the country, ending with two performances their most popular piece in the Harrington Street Theatre, Cape Town. Performed by Miss Bailey and Miss Calzado, transformation artistes. In this play they impersonated seven characters, including "The Rifle Volunteer".
