Biography
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He was a member of the Alfred Dramatic Club (later the Royal Alfred Dramatic Club) in the period 1860-61. In March of 1861 he temporarily bid the amateur theatre a farewell to put on a "Grand Entertainment" of his own in the Theatre Royal. The event included a performance of negro songs by Mr D'Urban's Ethiopian Minstrels, a Grand Drawingroom Enntertainnment called Music under Difficulties, or The Composer in Search of Quiet]] by Mr St George and Mr Chester (St George himself performing 15 roles) which ci included put on by Mr St George.
