The Lady of Belmont is a play in five acts by Irish dramatist St John Ervine (1883-1971) [1].

In this play the characters of The Merchant of Venice were carried a stage further on their life’s journey.

Performance history in South Africa

1929: Presented by the Repertory Players in the Standard Theatre, starring Seals Wood, Elsie Salomon, G. Absalom, D.J. Louw, O. Lazar, F. Marx as Narissa. Directed by Ethel Mann. March 1929.
