First performed in Paris at the Theatre de la Rennaisance (Salle Ventadour) on 15 November 1838. Published by Marchant, 1838.

Freely adapted into English from the French as The Jeweller of St James by William E. Suter ()[].

The English text first performed 17 February, 1862 in the Opera Comique London.


1870: Performed in English as The Jeweller of St James on 25th August: along with Matchmaking (Poole/)
