The original text
Said to have been "translated from the French", from an unknown French original, it was first performed in the Theatre Royal Haymarket on 25th August, 1821. Published by T.H. Lacy in Lacy’s Acting Edition in 1850.

1870: Performed in English as Match Making by the Young Men's Institute and Club Dramatic Company, Cape Town, in the Institute Assembly Hall on 25th August, with The Jeweller of St James (Suter/De St Georges and De Leuven)
