1957: First produced in South Africa in 1957 by the Johannesburg Reps, directed by Clifford Williams with Sonia Dresdel.
1967: Die Koningin en die Rebelle was presented by CAPAB in January 1967, directed by Anna Neethling-Pohl. The cast: Milla Louw, Anna Cloete, Percy Sieff, Johan Malherbe, Willem de la Querra, Kristo Pienaar (replaced by Johann Nell in some performances), Glynn Day, Peter Grobbelaar, Gertie Smith-Visser, Pieter de Swardt, I. de la Querra (seuntjie). Decor and costumes by Bill Smuts.
1974: A production in Afrikaans (Die Koningin en die Rebelle, translated by Alewyn Lee) was directed by William Egan for PACOFS in 1974, starring, Jannie Gildenhuys, Estelle de Waal, Wim Vorster.
1975: Themi Venturas directed a Port Elizabeth Shakespearean Festival [P.E.S.F.] Young 'uns production in English.
