Le Tonnelier ("the cooper") is a one act opéra-comique[1], by Nicolas-Médard Audinot (1732 - 1801)[2] and François-Antoine Quétant (1733-1823). .

First performed in Paris by the Comédiens Italiens ordinaires du Roi on 16 March 1765.

Published in Paris in 1765.

Performance history in South Africa

1803: Performed in the African Theatre by the Het Fransche Liefhebbery Geselschap under the leadership of C.M. Villet on Saturday 15 October with Les Jardiniers (Davesne).

1804: Performed in the African Theatre by the Het Fransche Liefhebbery Geselschap under the leadership of C.M. Villet on Saturday 7 January with Annette et Lubin (Favart). (Announced as Le Tonnellier)

1809: Performed (as Le Tonnellier) by Tot Nut en Vermaak in French on 24 April, in the African Theatre, along with Robert, Chef de Brigands (Lamartélière).
