Born in Durban, raised in KwaMashu. Died in October 2008 aged 59, survuved by her husband Ellio Ngubane and four children. Started her stage career in the late 1960s and was a protegé of Welcome Msomi. Her early stage credits include uMabatha. She later toured Europe as a cast member op Ipi Tombi.
