Castor en Pollux

Castor en Pollux (Castor and Pollux) is a small Dutch intermezzo[1], based on the Greek myth[2], written by "an amateur" (most probably Charles Etienne Boniface)

The original text

A crude satire on J. Suasso de Lima, the work was part of, or was an accompaniment to, his satire Nog Net Zoo, a reworking of Clasius, of Het Proces om een Komedie-Lootje.

Performance history in South Africa

1834: The work was performed on 13 September, 1834 in Cape Town, with Valmont de Saint Priest, of De Schipbreukeling (Van Haemstede) and Nog Net Zoo (Boniface).
