The Bee-hive
The Bee-hive is a musical farce by John Gideon Millingen (1782–1862), with music composed Charles E. Horn.

The original text
It was first performed by the Drury Lane Company at the Theatre Royal, Lyceum on Saturday, January 19th, 1811 and published 1818.
Performances in South Africa
While no specific performance is mentioned , Bosman (1928: p. 184) does record a call for the music of The Bee-hive by the Amateur Company of officers in Cape Town 1823.
