De Bloemenkrans, of De Minnaar in den Boom is a one act comedy by Henricus van der Sprong.

The original text
According to the preface by the author (1836), it was first written in French as a vaudeville piece entitled Le Mariage à l'Houssarde, which was only done once, and was then reworked in a one act Dutch version (without music), entitled De Bloemenkrans, of De Minnaar in den Boom, for performance in 1836, and publication by Mensing en Van Westreenen, Rotterdam, 1836.
Translations and adaptations
Van der Sprong states that he also wrote a German version.
Performance history in South Africa
1853: Performed in Dutch by Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst in Cape Town in the Garrison Theatre on 14 July as afterpiece to Hariadan Barbarossa, of Het Beleg van Reggio (Lamarque de Saint-Victor and Corsse/Fallée).
