Biography
Malcolm was born in England. He settled in South Africa in 1974.
Youth
Training
Career
He was a technician at the Northcott Theatre in Exeter and the Library Theatre of Manchester. He joined the staff of CAPAB in 1974 as a Lighting Operator and, later in that year, a Senior Lighting Operator. Promotion followed in 1976 to Chief Lighting Technician , in 1977 to Chied Lighting and Sound Technician and in 1982 to Resident Lighting Designer.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Malcolm has designed the lighting for more than a hundred dramas, pantomimes, musicals, ballets and operas, including Up 'n Atom, Forbidden Fruits, Cream Passions, Mirakel and Yours, Anne, Poison (1992), Macbeth (Artscape, 1996 -
Awards, etc
He won Vita Awards for Long Day's Journey into Night, In the Summer of 1918 and Die Rebellie van Lafras Verwey.
