The Boeren Plein (the "Farmers' Square") is the name of a square in Cape Town, used for markets and outspanning ox-wagons. It is the site on which permission was granted for the building of The African Theatre, the first formal theatre in Cape Town. (Also referred to as the Hottentot's Square, Van Riebeeck Square or Riebeeck Square.)
