The Boerenplein (the "Farmers' Square") is the Dutch name for a square in Cape Town, used for markets and outspanning ox-wagons in the 18th and early 19th century. It is the site on which land was allotted and permission granted for the building of The African Theatre, the first formal theatre in Cape Town.
