Amoroso
See Amoroso, King of Little Britain by James Robinson Planché (1796 – 1880). His first play, it was written in 1816 for an amateur performance at a private theatre. Performed professionally by John Pritt Harley at the Drury Lane Theatre on April 21, 1818.
Performance history in South Africa
1827: First performed on Monday 27th August in Cape Town's Cape Town Theatre by the Garrison Amateur Company, along with the "operatic interlude" Monsieur Tonson (Montcrieff) and Miss in Her Teens (Garrick).
