Biography
Born Johannes Jacobus Uys, became popularly known as Jamie Uys. Jamie Uys passed away on 29 January 1996, Johannesburg, South Africa from a heart attack.

Eventually he made 24 films, including the stage plays **, ** Other films include Dingaka (1964), Daar doer in die Bosveld, The Gods Must be Crazy (which enjoyed three years of uninterrupted screening in the United States of America and was a cult movie in Japan). Jamie Uys passed away on 29 January 1996, Johannesburg, South Africa from a heart attack.
Awards
Prizes for his work included the 1981 Grand Prix at the Festival International du Film de Comedy Vevey for 'The Gods Must be Crazy' and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association award for best documentary in 1974 for 'Beautiful People'.
