Performed for the first time on August 12, 1820, at The Theatre Royal, Haymarket and published by Wright in 1820.

1825: Produced in Cape Town, South Africa by the Garrison Players on 8 October, (along with The Midnight Hour by Dumaniant, tr Mrs Inchbald). The players included Mr Hanson, Mr Troward, Mr Watt, Sgt Corbishley. Mr Rundle, Mr St John, Howell, Master Canterbury, Mrs Black, Mrs Gouland, Mr Mills, Mrs O'Brien
