Paul is a play by Howard Brenton (1942-) [1].

The original text

Based on the life and career of Paul the Apostle, but with a highly controversial twist in which Jesus is shown as having survived the Crucifixion and his appearance to Paul on the way to Damascus as a real encounter arranged by Mary Magdalene and Peter, not a celestial vision.

First performed in modern dress, directed by Howard Davies and played in the Cottesloe auditorium of the National Theatre, London from 30 September 2005 – 4 February 2006.
