Franci Swanepoel (19*-2022) was an actress and television personality.

Biography
Born in Johannesburg, the daughter of news anchor Nic Swanepoel and Marida Swanepoel, one of the founding creators and producers of kykNET. She began featuring in radio dramas from the age of five. Having matriculated at Hoerskool Linden, she went on to study drama at the University of Stellenbosch before entering the entertainment industry professionally.
She unexpectantly died at home on 16 October 2022, and is survived by her husband, actor Max Baer, her mother, older brother Jan Adriaan and older sister Elsje.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Besides being a prolific Afrikaans TV presenter and news reader, she was also a producer, director and actor and co-owner of Makiti Productions.
As a student she acted in productions of Women Behind Bars (1993), Die Renosters1994), Ipekonders (1994), and Die Vampier (ATKV Kampustoneel 1994).
Her professional stage career included performances in Droom (1998), Siener in die Suburbs (KKNK 2002), Junkiedrome (High Street Theatre, 2002), Janneman (Woordfees 2011), Aantrekkingskrag in 2011, as Bea in Boksballade (KKNK 2013), Soebatsfontein (Innibos Festival, 2018).
She appeared with Sandra Prinsloo in the production of Soebatsfontein at the Innibos Festival of 2018.
TV roles include appearances in Binnelanders (as "Toeks Jobert")Getroud met Rugby, Sterlopers.
Film credits include Die Vierde Kabinet, Stroomop, Lien se Lankstaanskoene.
Awards, etc.
She was awarded the ATKV Veertjie as best actress for her role as Toeks Joubert in Binnelanders in 2010.
